Purpose:
The Louis and Katie Raynor Scholarship was established to help motivated and driven high school graduates with the financial responsibilities that come along with gaining a higher education. Louis and Katie Raynor, of Clinton, NC, believe that a higher education is important to have, and they raised five children who all earned degrees from institutions of higher education. Their mission is to continue assisting others by providing financial support to deserving high school seniors who have overcome challenges in order to achieve their academic and career goals. A deserving candidate must also have a proven record of academic progress, community service or volunteer work, and aspirations of a bright future through attendance at a four-year college/university or community college.
Award Components:
Each year, one senior will be selected to receive a scholarship in the amount of at least $500. This award will be provided directly to the four-year college/university or community college of the student's choice.

- The applicant must be a 12th grade student with plans to attend a four-year college/university or community college in the fall of the following school year.
- The applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale according to their high school transcript.
- The applicant must show a proven record of community service or volunteer work, including but not limited to, involvement in various clubs, organizations, and/or teams.
- The applicant must demonstrate how they have overcome challenges in order to achieve academic and career goals.
